L.A. Pets Arrive in Seattle to Find New Homes and Create Space for Fire Victims
Dogs and cats from Los Angeles are coming to Seattle on a flight from Wings of Rescue which transported nearly 40 dogs plus 18 cats. The animals were evacuated due to huge fires. This is not the first time that Wings of Rescue has stepped up as was seen also during the Northern California wildfires when over 800 animals were brought to healthy environments.
He indicated that many local residents also seemed quite moved by their mission. “It was clear the moment we landed and everyone started crowding in that the welcoming for them has been intense.”

Seattle in crates, through a mobile conveyor belt. Well cared for and safe, they arrived quite scared. Because they are irreversible historic fires are happening in Los Angeles, the need of attend directly to the lack of capacity for so many animals while their owners wait to get in, seriously in hurry. Now Seattle “picked up the ball” to help, to provide shelter for these animals in the city for a while and, in a small way, began to relieve the pressures on the California shelter system.
“It means so much, everything coming off the runway. To see all of them come here, at this point, is just terrific. Our staff will eagerly give these dogs and cats the care they deserve.”
The animals were whisked to the medical exam and vaccinations at the Seattle Humane, ensuring they are set to go for new homes. Our team will meet each of them as separate individuals and ensure that their health is up to par before being found homes,” Waszmer, Gracie, Oggy Hound told Animals.
Seattle is an evacuation point for animals in trouble and not for the first time disaster puts animals to her door. This time last year we even opened the doors to animals from Maui affected by the fire. Seattle is said to be quite a…hot spot for adoption. “Seattle is so quick for animals,” says Gene Gable with Wings of Rescue. “They can’t be here that long.”
In Los Angeles, dogs and cats were stranded for years waiting for their forever homes: the aircraft of which had some of them as passengers. Southern California owners would be able to bring even more of their favorite pets home because of the space made by Seattle Humane.
